HER Helmet Thursdays FAQs: Geographic Areas
Below are three ways to find the hundreds of Monterey County businesses and organizations that participate in the HER Helmet Thursdays Project by their geographic location.
1. One way is using the abbreviations key to search the Quick Reference Guide. Searches can be glitchy sometimes, so you may want to eyeball the list too.
To find the latest guide anytime, go to the LISTINGS, How to Get the Discounts, and FAQs about HER Helmet Thursdays page.
For your convenience, here’s the current guide:
10th Anniversary HER Helmet Thursdays Guide – Listings as of January 2020
The guide includes the key pictured below.
2. Another option is to refer to posts about some local communities—specifically, the posts that highlight their first HER Helmet Thursdays spots. Below is a list of Monterey County communities that currently have participants, as of the end of 2019. Notice that some of the names on this list are linked (light blue text). Click those and—presto!—you’ll find the first spots in that community.
Although there are fewer participating businesses and organizations in less populated communities, there are hundreds of HER Helmet Thursdays spots all over Monterey County, from Pajaro to San Ardo. The Monterey County communities (cities and unincorporated communities / census-designated places) are:
- Big Sur
- Carmel
- Carmel Valley
- Castroville
- Corral de Tierra
- Gonzales
- Greenfield
- Marina
- Monterey (these and more)
- Moss Landing
- Pacific Grove
- Pajaro
- Salinas, including East Salinas / The Alisal
- San Ardo
- Sand City
- Seaside
- Soledad
3. Finally, posters highlighting the first participants in a few communities are available on the Posters, etc. page, e.g., Carmel and Carmel Valley, Pacific Grove, Salinas, Seaside.
Directions tips
Note that many of the participants’ individual listings have some bike-there directional tips. Here’s an example: Haute Enchilada Cafe & Gallery in Moss Landing.
