Upper Hatton Road, Carmel

Public comment at the March 3, 2021 meeting of the Transportation Agency for Monterey County Bicycle and Pedestrian Advisory Committee included that of Michael Hulfactor. He spoke on behalf of the Upper Hatton Neighborhood Committee regarding traffic on upper Hatton Road.

This stretch of Hatton Road north of Ocean Avenue is regularly used by students from the northeast part of Carmel who walk or bike to and from Carmel High School. It is also used by neighborhood residents who walk, bike, skate, or scoot. And it is often used by touring cyclists or local bike commuters as an alternative to the adjacent stretch of CA Highway 1.
