Audio: Bikes are taking to the streets—and it’s not where you might expect
Ciclovía Salinas was Monterey County’s first Open Streets. People walk, bike, skateboard, dance, and otherwise move about in people-powered celebration on car-free streets.
The seventh Ciclovía Salinas, in 2019, is again on October 6th. Click here for poster and more.
Below, enjoy an audio flashback to the first Ciclovía Salinas, October 6th, 2013.

This audio feature was produced by Guy Lasnier of KUSP-Central Coast Public Radio, broadcast on KUSP on November 20, 2013. Kudos to KUSP for providing from 1972 to 2016 an independent, community-based, nonprofit, interactive multimedia voice for the greater Monterey Bay Area. KUSP’s mission was to inform, engage, and entertain by providing a thoughtful mix of news, public affairs, arts, and music programming.
