Among its diverse and multiple benefits—including to public health, community building, reduction of traffic congestion and carbon emissions—bicycling means business!
Biking benefits the economy in a variety of ways. For a quick look, see the Pew Charitable Trusts article, “Bicycling Tourists Are Older, Wealthier, and In Demand” by Marsha Mercer; “Bicycling Means Business: The Economic Benefits of Bicycle Infrastructure” from the League of American Bicyclists; and “Economic Benefits of Complete Streets” from the Safe Routes to School National Partnership.
People who bike Seaside, along with those who walk and skate, are among those anticipating with pleasure the West Broadway Urban Village Project in the Monterey Peninsula city of Seaside.
As with other infrastructure improvements, the Broadway Avenue construction naturally requires patience along the way. Here’s an advisory regarding the Broadway construction as well as construction on Seaside’s Fremont Boulevard, and on Hilby Avenue: http://www.ci.seaside.ca.us/DocumentCenter/View/4154
