Here in Steinbeck Country, buzz about this film—The Bikes of Wrath—especially got our attention!

If you check the Monterey County Bike Calendar regularly, you may have noticed The Bikes of Wrath played in Monterey on April 3, 2019, a screening hosted by Velo Club Monterey at Cinemark Monterey 13 in the Del Monte Center.

If you missed that screening, note that there’s at least one more screening here in the Monterey Bay Area:
Monday, April 15, 2019, 6:30 p.m. at the Regal Santa Cruz 9, 1405 Pacific Avenue, Santa Cruz. Details:

The film previously played in Santa Cruz on March 15, 2019 at the Rio Theatre.

The Bikes of Wrath, as described on, offers an “an in-depth look at today’s America through the lens of John Steinbeck’s seminal novel, The Grapes of Wrath.
“Five Australian friends [Leon Morton, Charlie Turnbull, Cameron Ford, Red Chaouki, Oliver Chiswell] attempt to cycle from Oklahoma to California in honor of the mighty westward migration undertaken by ‘The Grapes of Wrath’s’ Joad family.”
