Salinas High Mountain Bike Team Takes First Place at Granite Bay

How are the Cowboys doing?

On March 9, 2014, the Salinas High Cowboys kept their winning streak intact with a first place team finish at the NorCal League race at Folsom Lake. Race distances ranged from 12–24 miles on a challenging single-track course bordering Folsom Lake.

This year’s Cowboys mountain bike team is the largest ever with 41 student riders.  Cowboy riders who earned a spot on the podium at the meet included the following.

Freshmen Boys:
Matthew Gaucher, 1st Place
Roberto Luis Castro, 2nd Place
James Courtright, 3rd Place
Nash Courtright, 4th Place
Freshmen Girls:
Kate Wenger, 5th Place
Sophomore Boys:
Gianni Ottone, 3rd Place
