Ian Axel, Greg Holden, Katie Costello Monterey House Concert

Congrats, Ian Axel and Chad Vaccarino–A Great Big World–on your February 8, 2015 Grammy win for Best Pop Duo/Group Performance, “Say Something.”

We’re taking a bike ride down memory lane…
In collaboration with Drew Pearce Music, on March 27, 2010 in Monterey, Sierra Dehmler hosted a house concert featuring Ian Axel, Greg Holden, and Katie Costello.  Three talented musicians in an intimate setting.  A perfect formula for a great evening.

It was Ian Axel’s 25th birthday, and Sierra knew just who to ask to make Ian a cake based on one of his favorite books:  Monterey’s bike-friendly Parker-Lusseau Pastries, a charter participant in the HER Helmet Thursdays project.

Ian’s response?  “Best. Cake. Ever.”

Holden and Costello…

And below are songs from Holden, Axel, and Costello during the candlelight (in observance of Earth Hour) portion of this Monterey evening:
