Act on Climate: Monterey County Climate Action Coalition
SAVE THE DATE! Sunday, September 21, 2025 is Sun Day, a national Day of Action celebrating solar and wind power, and the movement to leave fossil fuels behind. In Monterey County, people will gather 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at City of Monterey’s Window on the Bay Park (photo gallery below). See why, and what’s happening:
To volunteer, contact David Prina of Monterey County Climate Action Coalition. To contact David by email: mccacoalition AT gmail DOT com

Window on the Bay Park—see photo gallery below — is directly alongside the coastal rec trail, parallel to Del Monte Avenue between Camino El Estero and Camino Aguajito. If you’re able, please use people-powered transportation to get there —🚲🚶🏾♀️🛹🛴🧑🏾🦽bike, walk, skate, scoot, or roll, even if use of a bike-and-ride option is necessary too.

Did you know? The transportation sector accounts for about 40% of California’s greenhouse gas emissions (see more details). Bicycling helps reduce the environmental impact of transportation while improving public health and strengthening communities.
Caring for the earth—including taking action on climate change!—is among the multiple benefits of bicycling mentioned by people in Voices of People Who Bike, Part I. We appreciate everyone who bikes to get about, whenever they are able, e.g., the Monterey County residents and visitors below who were biking in various local communities.
