Keep It Rolling: Bicycling Monterey Resources and Projects

Contributions and volunteers to help maintain and expand the Bicycling Monterey site and projects are needed and appreciated.

Bicycling Monterey was launched May 2009. The site and projects are provided by Mari free of charge, as a public service. The active participation of others, including these contributors, has been a vital part of this work.

In honor of this fourth anniversary, for four months, Mari is taking a partial break.

Here’s what’s up, and how to stay connected,

from June 1 to Sept 30, 2013.

As usual, you are welcome to phone, 831.375.6278.

1. Youth class: Mari will continue all activity and forms of communication related to the Monterey County Youth Center bike class.
2. New HER Helmet Thursdays participants: HER Helmet Thursdays, a long-term project launched in 2009, continues as usual. New participants may sign up online or by phone and will be added to the listings within 30 days.
3. Ciclovía Salinas. Mari will reply to phone calls and emails about Ciclovía Salinas, including from those who want to volunteer.
   
4. Updates to other existing content: Mari will post site updates 6/1-9/30 if submitted by or about individuals, businesses, or organizations already featured on this site. Submit updates by email or phone.
5. Phone support: Mari will continue to provide phone support (831.375.6278) to visitors or residents who have questions about biking in Monterey County.
6. Phone contact: Mari is also happy to remain accessible to others who wish to call.
   

What’s not happening June 1 through September 30, 2013?

• Email may not be responded to,  except as indicated above, until asap after October 1.
  
• If you have a general question about bicycling in Monterey County and need an email response before October, consider emailing one of the many other Monterey County bike community resources.
• Twitter: Timely replies at @BikeMonterey and @HERHelmetThurs will resume after October 1.
  
• Guest posts may be published on Bicycling Monterey before October if they are ready-to-go, and as Mari’s available time allows.
  
• New posts by Mari will not be published until October. (There are 340+ posts and 65+ pages on the site, and many are timeless. Check out the four years of archives in the right-hand panel.)
