Off to Make Music, by Bike
Above: June 28, 2021, musician Harry Thomas of the Hovering Breadcat Folk Ensemble was giving the public on Old Fisherman’s Wharf, Monterey a taste of upcoming performances with the band (https://www.hoveringbreadcat.com).
Below: Flashback to others who bike to make music in Monterey.

Whether at the Old Monterey Farmers Market, an impromptu jam on Wharf I, or elsewhere, you’ll often find this talented musician sharing his music in Monterey.
Last bike music tour I recall coming through these parts was Ben Sollee making a tour stop in Salinas nearly three years ago. And the year before, Jason Reeves, Brandon James, and Amber Rubarth came to Monterey on their Vespas. Definitely time for another eco-minded touring musician to visit Monterey County!

This gentleman is heading to his saxaphone lesson–one of a multitude of trips he makes by bike.
See a photo of Tyler Reilly, who teaches music for Youth Orchestra Salinas (“YOSAL”), and his sons in the Salinas Californian’s 8/17/15 “We Could Car Less column.” They do the bike-and-ride via MST bus from Del Rey Oaks to Salinas.
Erin Inglish made an Earth Bike Banjo tour stop in Monterey, thanks to Dennis Murphy School of Music. Don’t know Erin’s music? Check out her fun bike music video!
The Murphy School is a short, flat ride from the Monterey Bay Coastal Trail and is also very near the downtown Monterey transit plaza. Bike or bike-and-ride there!
