About the Twilight Ride Series…

Are you awed by the cyclists who descend Laguna Seca’s world-famous Corkscrew during Sea Otter Classic?  Even if you aren’t ready to register for Sea Otter race events, you may be anxious to get out on the track!

Who knows what ideas race through the minds of cool young cyclists
like Zachary Flint–perhaps biking where his favorite racers have

Yes, if that’s on your wish list, your wish has come true!  You do have the opportunity to race–or just play, enjoying a more mellow attack of that 300-foot climb at  regularly scheduled Twilight Bicycle Rides at Laguna Seca.

The cost is $10 per rider, with a portion of that going to charities.   The Twilight Rides are informal, and the 2.238-mile track will be open to all levels of cyclists, including children.  Check out the Twilight Rides info at the Mazda Raceway website. In addition, note that all riders must have a helmet.  Questions?  Call the Mazda Raceway front office line, 831-242-8201.

2010 Twilight Rides

Since this post was originally published in Spring 2010, there are now two remaining 2010 Twilight Rides:  November 17 and December 15; the latter will be sponsored by the Naval Postgraduate School Cycling Club.

What else is up at Laguna Seca?

Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca was originally constructed in 1957. The world-renowned raceway has been operated since its inception by the Sports Car Racing Association of the Monterey Peninsula (SCRAMP), a not-for-profit 501C(4) corporation. Each race season, SCRAMP donates its net proceeds to the volunteer groups that help put on the races.

Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca’s world-class 2010 racing schedule includes the American Le Mans Series Monterey presented by Patrón, May 21-23, 2010; the Red Bull U.S. Grand Prix featuring MotoGP World Championship, July 23-25; the Pre-Reunion, August 7-8; the Rolex Monterey Motorsports Reunion, August 12-15; and the Global Tuner Grand Prix, October 22-24.

Additional events throughout the year—besides the Sea Otter Classic—include Spirit West Coast, July 1-3 and Cherry’s Jubilee, September 8-12.
