Rancho San Juan High School Mountain Bike Team
Rancho San Juan High School Mountain Bike Team was made up of half freshmen and half seniors for the 2023-2024 season. A large portion of the team was completely new to mountain biking. The team saw tremendous growth as the riders gained skills and confidence throughout the season.
The team has been competing in the National Interscholastic Cycling Association (NICA) NorCal League since the school opened in 2019. In 2024 the team competed in three NICA-sanctioned races: Fun at the Fort, eXChequer XC, and Six Sigma Slinger.
The team watches as one of the riders crosses the finish line.
At a practice in Fort Ord, the riders and coaches practiced water bottle handoff while riding uphill.
At another practice in Fort Ord, riders practiced skills while coaches fixed a bike.
We want to thank our many sponsors and collaborators. The team is supported by coaches, family, friends, and community members. Many people contributed financially to give the team everything we needed. We appreciate the help and look forward to collaborating with other schools within the district next year.
