i used the bike path for years as a way to transit around monterey. loved it. as far as an alternative lighting solution for stretches of the path that do not require strong overhead lighting, what about having solar lights installed every 10 feet or so. the light could be deflected downwards to only light the path, and not interfere with night vision. just a thought.
