Monterey native Laurel Thomsen knows the merits of bike valet parking . . .

and she also knows how to play the violin in an extraordinary way!

Laurel is acclaimed as a vocalist and songwriter too. That’s also true of her partner— vocalist, prolific songwriter, guitarist, and multi-instrumentalist entertainer Canadian Dan Frechette.

This year the two performed multiple shows at the Winnipeg Folk Festival, along with scores of shows coast-to-coast throughout North America. You can catch them at times in the Monterey Bay area too. On November 11, 2016, they played to a packed house at the Henry Miller Library, Big Sur.

Musicians ranging from Arcade Fire to Neil Young have played at the Miller. Dan and Laurel were joined there by vocalist Shannon Miller. Attendees at their 11/11/16 show came from Monterey, San Francisco, Oakland, Santa Barbara, Long Beach, Hermosa Beach, Los Angeles, and other locations.
