Car Culture and Bike Culture: American Legion’s Lowrider Bike Show, and other activities
Car culture and bicycle culture sometimes seem at odds. Other times, such as Monterey County’s 4-day Celebration of Cycling, the Sea Otter Classic; Deadend Magazine’s Burrito Bike Rides; and the American Legion Post 589’s Lowrider Bike Show, car culture and bike culture come together to maximize their fun!
On August 16, 2015, bike culture and car culture unite to benefit Wounded Warriors and other veterans while having a rocking good time. American Legion Auxiliary, Post 589 hosts their 2nd annual lowrider bicycle show, combined with a classic car show and a 50s-style Sock Hop.
Bicycle/Motor Vehicle sign-in is 9:30-11 a.m. The show starts at 11 am. and goes till 4 p.m., and food service is 11:30 a.m. – 3 p.m.
For tickets and all other details about Hot August, contact Legion Auxiliary President Molly K. Smith, 831-759-0484, or other contacts (see poster above).
Curious to know more about how attending benefits veterans? Read the letter below, then be sure to ask Molly about Monterey Stand Down and other projects.
Thanks to American Legion Post 694 for teaming up with Post 589 to make this event possible.
